1. What is Viva Knights and who runs it?In the summer of 2006, a few THS alumns organized a reunion in San Antonio, Texas which featured a soccer match between the Red Knights and White Knights alumni soccer teams (look here for more info). A web site was put together to help organize and spread the word about the event. It started out as an online forum. Then a photo gallery was added when people wanted to share photos. Then news about the reunion was posted to the site as things took shape. It did not take very long to notice that, whether or not people who discovered the site were planning to go to the reunion, that people were using the site to re-connect with their old buddies from Spain. So the site eventually morphed into what it is today -- an online community for those who were affiliated with our old alma mater. The site is designed developed, and administered by Tony Garcia '89 . 2. Is Viva Knights associated in any way with the M/THS Alumni Association?Viva Knights is not affiliated in any way with the Madrid/Torrejon Knights Alumni Association . Viva Knights is more of an "online community" which is not only limited to former students of M/THS, while the Alumni Association's mission is to maintain and update the Alumni Directory (which at this point is MUCH more comprehensive than the Viva Knights member directory) and to organize alumni reunions. We'd like to urge people to support the Alumni Association in any way they can. 3. Why should I be a member of Viva Knights? There are two main benefits to registering as a member of the site:
4. Does it cost money to be a member of the site?Nope -- it's absolutely free! 5. What about member privacy? The privacy of our members is very important. We protect member privacy in several ways:
6. How can I contribute to the Viva Knights site/community?Site members are able to submit news articles to the site. If there's anything you'd like to share with the Viva Knights community, just submit an article! Of course, the more active participants there are, the better. So take advantage of the site features -- get in touch with old classmates, leave comments on their profiles, upload photos, chat in the forums and chatrooms. Also spread the word to others who you think might want to become a member of the site. 7. I've lost my username and/or password. How can I log in?If you've lost (or can't remember) your username and/or password, I can't simply send you your password because it's encrypted. You will have to re-set your password. To do that, follow these directions (in the process, you will also be able to retrieve your user name): In the "Member Login" box on the right side of the home page, click on "Lost Password?".
On the next page, enter the email address you used to register and click on "Send Password".
You will be sent an email with a link to re-set your password. If you don't receive the email, check any spam filters that you may have set up. The email will be from "User Registration" The email wil contain a link for you to click to reset your password. After you click it, you will be sent your username and a temporary password. Use those to log into the site. Once you are logged in, you should change your password to one that you'll remember. To change your password, go to your profile page ("Member Tools" menu > "Profile"). Go to the "Edit" button in the top right corner of the profile page and click on "Update Your Profile".
Click on the "Contact Info" tab.
Enter your new password in the "Password" and "Verify Password" fields and click on "Update" at the bottom of the form. |
